The story of sonali

Sonali was an absolutely straightforward girl. Sonali, whose family was the epitome of goodness, was at times unable to adjust to the world around her. Though she had travelled quite a bit, due to her strict upbringing, many times she felt that she was looking at the world with a limited outlook. She lived in constant fear of something or the other. There was nothing that she wasn’t scared of. Due to her constant analysis, she had literally eaten away at her life.

During this time, she found a mentor who realized that she had forgotten how to laugh. Due to her serious attitude, people felt that she was very strict. She longed to meet people, but due to the situation at home, it wasn’t possible for her.

Her mentor used his first weapon. He taught her to laugh. The philosophy that, the more you laugh, the more your mind is at ease and helps to get over your fears, was new to her; but she began to make efforts to imbibe this. Even then, for almost 7-8 months, Sonali didn’t completely get over her fears.

She was truly afraid of getting married. Actually speaking, she was afraid of everything in life, but the fear that marriage was a life-long commitment which shouldn’t go wrong, crippled her while taking a decision, and this resulted in her not getting married.

Her mentor taught her the next philosophy. ‘Find out why you are afraid. The answer was, those are the thoughts that come into our minds! But why do these thoughts come into our minds? It is because the situation around us is such. People are very quickly affected by unfavorable circumstances, as compared to favorable circumstances. But from today onwards, we should control our thoughts. All this was very mystical for her.

The mentor gave her a notebook and told her that they would be using the Power of Visualization and the Power of Spoken Words.

Write down five things in the book that you wish to achieve, and which are your goals. Sonali was confused. As usual, she said, “I’ll write them, but what if they don’t happen?” On hearing this, her mentor laughed and said, “You just eat the fruits, don’t count the trees.”

Sonali took her time to think and wrote her goals on a piece of paper. She had written them in the future tense i.e., I shall do this, I will achieve this, etc! Her mentor asked her to write the same lines in the present tense, on the next page.

They were as follows:

1.I am fearless, and lead a very happy life.

2.1 am happily married. 3.1 am a well-known author.

4.Till date, I have donated food to thousands of poor and needy people. 5.My life is filled with love, happiness and peace.

The mentor asked her to read these lines aloud as many times as she could during the day. “By reading them out loud, your mind gets used to giving those orders. Our thoughts are in our hands alone. Throughout the day, keep these five sentences-your goals, in mind, and believe that they have been achieved. By doing so, your mind shall give you the positive answers to many questions that form obstacles in your path.”

Within two months, Sonali learnt these two techniques, and with the help of her notebook, achieved her goals. Today, she is a well-known writer. She is fearless and is also engrossed in social work. Needless to say, she has the unconditional and loving support of her husband.

Power of Visualization means that you are conditioning your subconscious mind for the important task of achieving your goals!

What do we learn from Sonali’s story?

👉 If we don’t have a goal, we can’t succeed.

👉 When fear occupies our mind, our thoughts only take us towards frustration.

👉 When we become one with the mental image of our goal, many times, we are rewarded with success, because our thoughts are positive.

For this, it is necessary to improve our speech.
